The Hidden Side of Students’ Marriage at an Iranian University: A Qualitative Study of Achievements and Barriers

Background: The celebration of university students’ marriage ceremonies in Iran nearly dates back three decades, but its positive and negative aspects require further reconsideration. This study is intended to explore those the words students who married during their studies at university. Methods: In this qualitative study, a content analysis method was used evaluate experiences perceptions students. Sixteen (8 couples) were selected through purposive sampling interviewed Sabzevar University Medical Sciences, Iran, 2016. participants, newly-wed couples with an age range 18 28 years, attended semi-structured in-depth interview. Results: analyzed data emerged as four major categories (and eleven subcategories), including (a) inspirational prompting factors (membership student unions, enhanced opportunity know peers, attitude change towards on campus, peers sharing campus), (b) existence supportive resources (existence social support, economic support for (c) barriers failing marriages (barriers against campus causes failure), (d) achievements marital life (social maturation, enhancing goals, maturational development life).
